Mark Richard Zito
Mr. Zito is Of Counsel to JKA and works directly with clients developing case strategy and handling all aspects of the litigation to meet their needs. Mr. Zito has successfully defended a business owner client in a private nuisance suit in which he was granted a directed finding at trial. He has also successfully defended clients in breach of contract suits and brought a wide variety of commercial litigation matters to successful compromise on both the plaintiff and defendant sides. Recently, Mr. Zito, along with Mr. Jordan, of the firm, were successful in having a preliminary injunction granted in favor of their client, a fraternity house, against one of the area's national universities to stop the implementation of a housing policy that was adverse to their client's interests. In addition, Mr. Zito has been involved in a number of different Chapter 11 cases, assisting the debtor through reorganization.
Mr. Zito is a member of the Illinois State Bar and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Mr. Zito received his J.D., with honors, from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1998, where he was a member of the Iowa Law Review. He received his B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in 1998.
